Rosetta Stone Adds Phrasebook, Audio Tutorials & More to IOS

Rosetta Stone’s language learning tools on iOS recently received an update that adds some much-requested features. The app now has a built-in phrasebook, audio lessons you can listen to offline, and a new way to practice your pronunciation.

If you have a Rosetta Stone subscription, you can go to the app menu and select “Advanced Learning”. There you will find new tools. The phrasebook contains all the necessary phrases such as greetings, navigation questions and more. If you’re learning a language while traveling, it’s nice to have it close at hand. The Audio Companion feature has a library of audio lessons that you can listen to while you drive, cook, or do anything that requires your hands. All lessons can be downloaded for offline use.

Finally, the Stories tool allows you to read and write stories in the language you are learning, and then get feedback on your pronunciation from the advanced Rosetta Stone speech recognition engine, which samples your voice from 16,000 data points per second. It can even show you how you are doing in real time. The update released yesterday also adds these new features to their web platform.
