How to Cleanse Very Quickly After Exercising With Sweating
If you’re pressed for time, hitting the gym right before work or during lunch may be your only option. Which probably means you can’t squeeze in the shower. Here’s how you can get back to work quickly without feeling sweaty and smelly.
To do it right, you first need to assemble a small cleaning kit that will be in your gym bag. Here’s what should be in it:
- Wet wipes : These can be anything from trendy “refreshing wipes” from adult brands like Herban Essentials and Ponds to baby wipes. Pick your favorite brand and throw in your travel bag. This is vital.
- Facial cleansing wipes : Yes, they are different. They are less aggressive to the skin and smell better. You can usually find them at the makeup remover in the store.
- Dry Shampoo : Hair will be damp, sweaty and rough after training. Dry shampoo allows you to get rid of all this very quickly. There are tons of brands out there, but our employees love the cambric. You can also use a hair freshener or moisturizing spray.
- Deodorant / Antiperspirant : This should be obvious. After you’ve wiped off the sweat, you’ll need something to smell good. Choose something fresh and clean, not a perfume for your colleagues. If you don’t want to use deodorant or antiperspirant, diluted essential oils are fine too.
- Headband : If you have long hair, or even just long bangs, lift your hair up so it doesn’t break out in sweat. Preventive measures mean less clean-up.
- An extra pair of underwear : let’s face it, you sweat a lot when you exercise and you don’t want to wear sweaty underwear all day. It’s the same with bras. You don’t have to go to the office with what you wore during your workout.
- Frozen Water Bottle : This is not drinkable, so this is an addition to your regular water bottle. If your face really turns red during exercise, then you will want to. Believe me.
Once you pack your gear, you are ready to head to the gym and get in shape. Or cardio. Or whatever you do to look good . However, before starting your workout, do two things : Apply dry shampoo to your hair roots, especially if you have longer hair. It prevents the accumulation of excess moisture and prevents the entire head from becoming covered in sweat. And put your hair up, or put on a hair band. Now you can start. Have fun.
When you’re done with your workout, follow these quick cleanup steps in the following order:
- Cool and dry your hair as quickly as possible. If you have a hair dryer for the gym, put it on “cool” and fluff your face and hair. Or stand outside for a couple of minutes if it’s cool or breeze. This will make it easier to wipe the sweat off your face and make the dry shampoo easier to work with.
- Apply another layer of dry shampoo to your hair and make sure it is evenly distributed. You don’t need stains.
- Wipe your face with facial cleansing wipes. This is where you work from top to bottom. If you come across dry shampoo on your face, you can wipe it off here.
- Use non-face wet wipes to cleanse the rest of your body. Wipe off as much as you can, but make sure you get to the main areas like armpits, back, groin, buttocks, etc. If you know you are sweating a lot somewhere, make it your priority.
- Now put on your fresh underwear. This will give your body a few seconds to dry, and you can …
- Apply deodorant, antiperspirant, or diluted essential oils, then put on work clothes. Restore your hair and reapply makeup if you have time and want to do it.
All this should take no more than five to ten minutes. But wait, your face is still red! You don’t want to go to a meeting so excited. Remember the frozen water bottle? When returning to work, place a bottle of frozen water on the side of your neck next to your carotid artery . This will cool the blood flowing to your face and bring your skin tone back to normal. By the time you get back to the office, no one knows that you were sweating 10 minutes ago.
