This Is the Normal Amount of Vaginal Discharge.
Vaginal discharge, a kind of whitish fluid, appears under your underwear – this is completely normal (if you have a vagina). But if you see a lot of them, you might wonder how many can you? In this video, the gynecologist Dr. Jen Gunther is shown.
She injects four milliliters of iodine-dyed yellow water so you can see what it looks like. Anything over this amount within 24 hours is normal. She also has pictures of ru smeared on a pillow in case the water is, you know, too watery to get the point.
If you are leaking more than four milliliters a day, an infection, a stuck tampon, or other things that require the attention of a professional may be the cause. And if discharge of any amount is accompanied by irritation, odor, itching or pain, be sure to check it. If not, just know that you are perfectly normal and that your obstetrician-gynecologist has seen it all before.
