Get Closer to a Handstand in 12 Minutes
Do you dream of doing handstand? So do I. This video won’t make you a master of the handstand, but it will help you stretch your wrists and get closer to balance over the arms.
I followed the video in its entirety, but every time Dylan Werner described the movement as a smooth “float,” such as lifting my feet off the ground, I tended to jump forward and fall with a thud. This is fine. I doubt even Dylan Werner came out of the womb capable of graceful handstands. Although he must have trained once and it looks like it worked well for him. So why not give it a try?
For this video, you will need a yoga mat (or better yet, a soft carpet) and a wall. I couldn’t do the wall up and down movements that he demonstrates, so I just put my feet up on the wall and tried to get comfortable. To my surprise, I did just that for a moment. Hope you find one of those fleeting moments too.
Difficulty : difficult. Modifications : If you don’t expect to get off the ground, just practice your weight transfer. This brings it down to an easy / medium level. Sweat factor : no sweat.
