Bloomberg Extension Lets You See the Context You Are Missing

Right now, if you want to know the stock price of any company you read about on the Internet, you have to go to another tab, google and pray for the correct numbers.

Visiting Google Finance or Wikipedia can save you the urge to know, but if you often try to put things in perspective, constantly looking for context can be a hassle, especially on your phone. But the newBloomberg Chrome extension and companion app makes it much easier to find related information about what or whoever you read about in an article.

You can see how this works with the Chrome extension. We’ve created a flickering icon that lets you know if content is available – no flicker and no bright colors. This is a polite app. We don’t track you (you won’t even log in to Chrome).

The Bloomberg Lens extension, powered by Postlight’s free Mercury AMP service, scans the article you’re reading and searches the vast Bloomberg terminal database to provide stock prices, financial information about individuals, and related articles from Bloomberg. And while Bloomberg is a data warehouse, the extension doesn’t track your browsing habits.

Want to see how rich Elon Musk really is? Open your favorite article on Musk , click on the Bloomberg Chrome extension and watch a sidebar pop up with information about Musk, Tesla (and its stock prices), and related news based on that story. On your iOS device, the Lens extension is hidden in the share page where the related data will be displayed.
