Maybe It’s Time to Trade the Bath Towel for a Sheet
Not all bath towels are created equal. In fact, some are so large and provide such coverage that they are called bath sheets . If you’ve never owned a sheet, but you know you are the type of person who enjoys being cocooned out of large, comfortable covers, it might be time to try a sheet. On the other hand, if all you want is to dry quickly immediately after showering, a standard bath towel will probably suffice. The size of your bathroom and the size of the person using the specified towel or sheet also matters.
This is the difference between a bath towel and a sheet – and how to decide which one is right for you.
What is a sheet?
Sheets are made from the same material as towels, but they are usually ten inches wider and longer than a regular bath towel. This extra room provides almost 100% coverage when leaving the shower (not to mention the added comfort). The extra fabric means more absorbency and is a good choice for those who like to wrap themselves in a towel while they are gathering.
How to decide if you need a sheet or towel
To find out if a towel or sheet is right for you, ask yourself the following questions:
- When you get out of the shower, do you notice that the towel is wet before it’s completely dry ? (The answer could be a sheet.)
- Does your sheet never seem to dry out completely? Does the floor sweep? (The sheet may be too large for your space.)
- Do you like full coverage when you wrap up? (Exchange this towel for a sheet.)
When is the best time to use a bath towel?
Bath towels are great for kids who don’t need all that extra fabric you like, or for small dogs that would likely get lost in all the folds of a bath sheet. They are also best for small bathrooms that have little storage or drying space. However, a combination of both does not hurt. Bath towels for small creatures and small spaces; bath towels for those who want larger size and absorbency.
