Amazon Alexa Now Has Reminders and Multiple Timers
Amazon is beefing up some of the basic features in Alexa, its voice assistant. Your beloved woman in a tube can now set reminders and several timers, each with its own name. Because if there is something better than a helper, then it is an assistant who will remind you when something is done and how long it will take, especially when you ask.
Amazon is constantly updating Alexa with new skills , from simple to critical – reminders and lists are the last. Having multiple timers running means you can ask how much time is left on the pie timer while your pan is fried, well, fried. Given how common and useful setting a timer is, this add-on should have been available since the inception of Alexa.
You can fully control your timer and reminder list in the Alexa app if you’re far away from your device (although you can just use the Reverb app and have Alexa on your phone).
Reminders and lists may sound simple, but people use smart helpers for pretty simple things . 39% of smart speaker owners use them to set reminders and 41% still use them to set timers, so why not make them more functional (and by more functional I mean actually functional first)?
The alarm update came just days after Amazon added support for Apple iCloud calendars (they already supported Google and Microsoft calendars) ahead of Apple’s own WWDC on Monday, where the company is expected to announce its own Siri-based voice assistant.
If you don’t think the advanced timer is a boon to your existence, try cooking for a date while doing your laundry at the same time. See what happens!
