IPhone: Get a One-Handed Keyboard Without Waiting for IOS 11
Later this year, Apple will publicly release iOS 11, which includes one-handed operation for the keyboard by default . This is a great idea, which is why so many third party keyboards already have this feature. And you don’t have to do jailbreak or do anything weird.
- Microsoft Word Flow can turn your keyboard into an arc around your thumb. It also lets you type by swiping your thumb across the screen, leaving the keyboard only to complete a word.
- Fleksy can squeeze to either side of the screen, although it does not accept swipes.
- The Minuum has two modes for one-handed operation, as well as an exotic flat mode that saves vertical screen space. Flat Mode is imprecise at first, but like any good software keyboard, it learns from your typing patterns. Unfortunately, it doesn’t use swiping.
- Although version Gboard , SwiftKey and Swype for iOS does not change the keyboard form, they allow swipe, which is a very effective way to set the text with one hand.
To enable any of these keyboards after they are loaded, go to Settings> General> Keyboard> Keyboards> Add New Keyboard, add a keyboard, then select it again and turn on Allow Full Control.
