Muzzle Automatically Turns Off OS X Notifications on Screen Sharing
When you show your screen for a business or school presentation, you don’t want any notifications to pop up like sext, therapist appointment calendar notification, or Slack DM about the problem client you are currently introducing. You can click Do Not Disturb, but what if you forget? While Windows 10 has a built-in option to turn off notifications during screen sharing, OS X doesn’t. The free Muzzle app fixes this.
Muzzle disables notifications while you are showing the screen in Slack, Google Hangouts, join.me, and other apps, although Skype currently has bugs. According to its developer Brian D.K. Jones, it sits quietly on the menu bar and does not use memory when you are not showing the screen.
As shown above, the app download page displays an endless array of derogatory notifications that you might want to avoid. If Jones’ fake notifications are funny to you, take a look at the prank app he says he is working on that will bring them to your desktop.
By the way, the app’s tiny interface has a stupid button labeled “Mach Override”. Come on, push it; it doesn’t actually do anything . It looks like a reckless joke in an embarrassment prevention app, which is why we warn you.
