6 Microsoft Edge Extensions You Should Be Using

There aren’t many, but Microsoft Edge has a bunch of third-party extensions to add some functionality to the new web browser.

The promising market doesn’t have as many options as Google or the Firefox add-on host, but the few that it does have will make your browsing more intuitive and comfortable if you try a new browser.

Save in your pocket

Browsing the web means finding stories that you don’t have time to read right away. Submitting those longer readings to your article saving service of choice is always a great idea, and the Save to Pocket feature makes it easy with one click. Edge has its own built-in Reading service later, but if you’ve already invested in it, the transition may seem a little daunting to you.

Turn off the light

If you don’t need spaces around your screen when watching YouTube videos, Turn Off The Lights is an extension that dims your entire web browser window, allowing you to focus on the video in front of you. It works with Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, Vimeo and other HTML5 compatible videos, so it will become your favorite extension if you are a fan of browser video streaming.

Ghost

Ghostery is a tracker disable extension that helps protect your data while surfing the web. It stops site analytics monitors, ad trackers and other information gathering plugins that harass the internet. Even if you block ads, you will want to hijack Ghostery so that other services don’t follow you.

LastPass

LastPass users can try the password manager Edge extension if they want to switch browsers and keep all their login details up to date. LastPass originally charged users a fee to sync passwords across multiple devices, but now that cross-platform syncing is free, it’s time to dive into the water of a password manager.

Reddit Enhancement Suite

If you’re a casual Redditor, you’ll need the Reddit Enhancement Suite to feel right at home in Microsoft Edge. The extension is widely recognized as a tool for fans of the online community, with improvements like auto image expansion, keyboard shortcuts, and infinite scrolling being my favorite trick.

Pinterest Save

Surprise, I still use Pinterest! Whether it’s brainstorming which new table should I buy, or building a board out of gorgeous Gundam kits, I use the Pinterest Save extension to add any image or article I like to any board I have.
