How to Succeed on Amazon Prime Day

Amazon Prime Day – Tuesday, July 11th, starting tomorrow, July 10th at 9:00 pm ET. If you’ve never attended an event the day before, it can be a little overwhelming. It’s like going to Walmart on Black Friday, except that because it’s online, you are less likely to be attacked.

New trades drop out roughly every 5 minutes for 30 consecutive hours, so this is a marathon, not a sprint, and good strategy is the key to success. While there is no foolproof way to ensure that you get all the trades you want, there are a few things you can do to increase your chances of success:

Make sure your Prime account is up to date

To take advantage of Prime Day, you need to be a primary customer. Go ahead and take the time to make sure your membership details are in order. If you don’t already have a Prime membership, you can also sign up for a free 30-day trial and take advantage of discounts.

Fund Amazon Credit

Amazon already offers a $ 10 credit when you first add $ 100 to your Amazon gift card balance. Gift cards work the same way as credit in your account. If you know you are going to spend tons of money on Tuesday (or even just shop regularly on Amazon), then adding $ 100 to your account means an automatic 10% bonus.

Get it now

If you’ve never tried Prime Now, Amazon is offering a $ 10 discount on your first order, plus a $ 10 bonus on future orders using code “10PRIMEDAY”. If you are considering purchasing something, it would be a good idea to know if it is available for immediate delivery in your area so you can take advantage of it.

Hang with Alex

Access to this year’s offerings begins at 9:00 pm ET Monday for people with Alexa devices. Say, “Alexa, what are your business?” to see what’s available right now.

Download Amazon App

The Amazon app is your key to making sure you don’t miss out on a single deal. In the app, navigate to Today’s Deals and then Upcoming Deals to see all the major deals 24 hours before they go live. If you notice something, you can “View This Deal” to be notified when the sale of this item has officially started. This planning stage is key in order to catch profitable deals. Better yet, if you’ve never used the app before, Amazon is offering $ 10 for your first login .

Join the waiting list

Even if an item is on sale (and trust me, what you need is likely to be), you can click the Join Waiting List button on the product page to be notified if additional inventory becomes available for some reason.

Pay attention

As with Black Friday, there will be “deals” on Prime Day that are not really a bargain. Note what the deal really is, how much or what product are you getting (do you have where to store that 48-pack of Charmin?), And is it really a big discount. You also need to make sure that you are buying exactly what you really need or need. It doesn’t matter how cheap something is, if it’s useless for you, then it’s not a bargain at all.
