Perhaps you have a carefully organized Notes app, a framed poster of your favorite recipe cards, or a steel trap mind that stores your cooking recipes down to the teaspoon. It should be nice!

Over the weekend, food writer Adam Eras came up with a pretty brilliant solution: recipes or conversion factors that you use all the time, save them as phone contacts for quick access.

Sure, it can get cumbersome if you tackle it too hard, but being able – the average chunk of onion – to elbow your phone and tell Siri, “Read me the contact information for tomato sauce” can make life in the kitchen that much easier.
