How to Post Gifs to Instagram Using Giphy
Instagram is a great place to share all kinds of fun visuals besides your favorite GIFs. Instagram won’t let you download them. Luckily, the Giphy app lets you do just that right on your smartphone.
Instagram only accepts photo or video files, so the first thing you need to do is convert this awesome GIF to a video file. To do this, Anthony Thurston of Digital Trends invites you to use the Giphy app, which you can downloadon your iOS or Android devices . Once you get it, here’s what you do:
1. Open Giphy
Open the app and find the GIF you want to post.
2. Save the GIF.
Search for “Share!” chapter. You should see a purple border with the Instagram symbol.
Tap it. Once you do that, Giphy will try to open your Instagram app. You can let him do it or click Cancel when you see a pop-up asking him. Either way, the app will save the GIF in your Camera Roll as a short video file.
3. Post to Instagram.
Now you can open your Instagram app if you haven’t already and post the video file normally.
If the GIF you want isn’t on Giphy, you’ll have to find it elsewhere and load it into the Giphy library first. And it’s all! Your Instagram followers are sure to be entertained with all of your funny gifs.
