The methods of termination of pregnancy and related laws change depending on which week you are pregnant. So if you don’t have the time to travel to the clinic for five hours, you may have to go on an even longer trip in a few weeks. (The price goes up too.) Some states also have a waiting period. In South Dakota, for example, a 72-hour break is required between consultation and the actual abortion.
