Recover Notifications That You Accidentally Dismissed With This Android App

Android: how often do you glance at your phone’s lock screen , flip through a list of notifications and, without a second thought, dismiss them all? If you are like me, then it is almost every morning. And if you’re like me, you often regret it when you can’t find an important notification a few seconds later.

This is the first world problem to be solved and now it is (at least on Android). Notification History Log is a new Android app that stores all your notifications locally on your device in one simple place.

How to use the notification history log

Once you’ve downloaded the app from the Google Play store , open it up and wait a few seconds for it to tune into your phone. The notification history log should work with any device running Android 4.4 KitKat or higher, which pretty much covers any phone you might be using currently.

When everything is ready, you will see the main screen of the application, which shows the device you are using and the features that it supports. The first is notification history, a very limited built-in Android notification log. Ignore it and click Advanced History instead.

In the Extended History tab, you can view all of your recent notifications. There is also a search function to scan individual apps or search for a message from a specific person. You can also specify how many notifications it should keep at the same time (15 to 250), clear notification history, and set extended history as the default app landing page.

The app is free, but there is also a Pro version for $ 1.49 with some useful additional features, including the ability to store unlimited notifications. It also adds the ability to swipe down on an individual notification to remove it or prevent apps from showing up on the blacklist. What’s more, it removes ads from your notification history log, which might be worth it if you constantly dive into the app to get a notification that you accidentally dismissed.
