What Should We Cook for Thanksgiving?
Hello friends, and welcome back to another session on theme selection forWill It Sous Vide? , the column where I do whatever you want with my immersion circulator.
Although October is not over yet, Turkey Day will come earlier than you know it, and I have always thought it was better to start preparing early. Last year we performed both a whole turkey and from multiple sides , but I’m sure we can do more. Some Thanksgiving ideas that I have come up with include:
- Turkey Confit: Similar to these duck legs, but much larger.
- Pommes raclette: You know, mashed potatoes, but with a lot of cheese.
- Corn casserole: I actually tried to perfect it myself for several months, but so far I have not been successful.
- Anything pumpkin besides pie: maybe cheesecake or crème brulee? Or are they both in the same jar?
- Sweet potato pie : or sweet potato casserole. Anything with sweet potatoes.
As always, feel free to contribute your own suggestions in the comments. Anything you think will make your Turkey Day easier, tastier, or more interesting is encouraged.
