FaceTime – Cooking Pot so You Can Leave the Kitchen
The pot being watched is said to never boil, but it’s unclear if this additive applies to video calls. I can call the movement “brilliantly lazy.” One enterprising young man used his iPhone to keep an eye on a pot of water he was trying to bring to a boil.
I am not saying that this hack has no risks. For example, I wouldn’t use FaceTime with candy, cooking oil, or anything that requires quick action on my part. But if you’re going to simmer something for a while, or just want to leave the room for a while and come back as soon as the water boils, this is definitely a millennial solution.
