How to Manage Multiple Calendars With Google Home

Google Home , the search giant’s answer to the Amazon Echo speaker , launched with at least one glaring omission: the ability to access and manage multiple calendars. This is especially surprising given that people can use their own Google Calendar app to organize their lives, but thankfully the company now appears to be releasing an overdue update.

Several people reported seeing the new option pop-up in their Google Home apps. This is how it works (courtesy of Android Police ).

How the new Google Home calendar feature works

To check if you have access to a new feature, simply open the Google Home app. Then go to Advanced Settings via the left menu and find the Calendar option at the bottom of the list. If that doesn’t work, you can also try launching Google Assistant by clicking the blue button in the top right corner and choosing Settings.

As soon as you open the new calendar settings page, you should see a list of your calendars (both public and private). From there, you can choose which ones to include in Google Home. When you receive the My Day report in the morning or ask about any upcoming events, it will be based on those specific calendars.

You can also use the same settings page to choose the default calendar for Google Home. This is where any events you create by dictating them to the speaker will appear. Therefore, if you are using a shared calendar with several people in the same house, you probably want to set it as the default.
