Here’s What’s in Store for and Out of Netflix in December 2017
This is the most wonderful time of the year! Netflix announced that it is arriving (and leaving) its streaming video lineup this month and is taking the holiday mood very seriously. You’ll have ample Christmas shows and movies to choose from, along with solid features that you can enjoy throughout the year (or as long as they last on Netflix). Some great cinematic works are also lost as the season rolls on, so here’s what you should watch before they disappear.
Basic moments
In the first week of December, Netflix is adding films such as 8 Miles , V for Vendetta, and The Full Metal Jacket to its selection, as well as popular kids titles such as Christmas at StoryBots , the fifth season of Long Live King Julien “ (based on the film DreamWorks Madagascar) and Home: For the Holidays . If you have older (and dumber) kids, you can play Nacho Libre and Ace Ventura: Pet Detective together starting this month.
You can also watch Will Smith’s original film Bright on Netflix. It’s an action-packed film about fellow cops that looks like a mix of Training Day and Dungeons & Dragons Monster Manual (partner is an orc). Luke Grimes plays a man locked in a liquor store on Christmas Eve in the dark holiday comedy and original Netflix film El Camino Christmas. Sequel to blockbusters like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 , and Planet Earth II will be available to watch at least until Disney decides to pull its catalog from Netflix to create its own streaming service in 2019.
Of course, what’s on the rise should decline and Netflix will remove some of the main content as December goes on. First, a documentary about one of the largest single-family homes in America, the Queen of Versailles , will be removed on December 13th. If you’ve never seen the FX sitcom in Philadelphia , It’s Always Sunny , you have until December 9th. Drink 11 seasons of the award-winning program before it disappears from the catalog. Jake Gyllenhaal’s Nightcrawler leaves Netflix the next day, so if thrillers are your favorite, watch before it goes up in smoke.
