You Can Get a Round Trip JetBlue Ticket by Purchasing the $ 20 Board Game [update: Sold Out]
JetBlue is selling a board game starting today that has a pretty grand prize: a free JetBlue round-trip flight certificate. A limited-edition game called Get Packing! Appears to have been available on Amazon for a while, starting at 12pm ET, for $ 19.99.
There were only 200 games available and they seem to have disappeared in a matter of seconds. The Amazon page now says, “We’re all sold out! We’ll be back on sale December 18 at 3:00 pm ET. “
In terms of real gameplay, with Get Packing! you gather 6 players together, and each of them tries to fill their “packing board” with the necessary items to go on a journey. The first player to fill out the packing board will receive the main prize – a certificate for a free (real) JetBlue flight.
When I first received an email from JetBlue saying this and posted it to our Slack, the entire Lifehacker team reacted in much the same way: what’s the catch?
As you might expect, there is one, albeit a fairly reasonable one (although we need to check those blackout days to be sure). By JetBlue:
“Every package! The game comes with a JetBlue round trip certificate for JetBlue flights to / from JetBlue cities on JetBlue operated flights. All travel must be booked and completed between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2018. Travel is subject to seat availability, blackout dates and capacity controls, and seats may not be available on all flights. There can be one game per Amazon account. “
It turns out they weren’t joking about the “limited edition” statement. If you want to take advantage of the second round, I would try to buy the game right at 3:01.
