Mark Gmail Messages As Read From Android Notifications With This Smart App
Most of us end up receiving tons of emails throughout the day. It turns out that I see a lot of these emails through the notification bar on my phone. I want to know what emails came in, but not enough to get into the Gmail app on my phone, so viewing them in notifications is a quick and easy solution. Whenever I see something there that I want to read or answer, I launch the application.
When you view emails through the notification tab, the Gmail app does not confirm that you saw the message exists. This means that when I launch the Gmail app to see one note I need to reply to, I am bombarded with 50 emails that I have already declined in a day, and would probably be archived if I launched the app to start. …
Now there is a solution for this … sort of.
AutoNotification is an app that intercepts traditional notifications and lets you mark Gmail messages as read right from the notification bar without archiving them. This means you will still see them in your inbox when you eventually launch it, but they will be “read,” so your unread messages will stand out, Android Police reported .
It’s not as good as just throwing those spam messages into the trash can right from the notification bar, but it’s still a pretty useful suggestion.
There’s a good chance you’ve heard about AutoNotification before . We wrote about some of the features of the service last year.
While the service has been around for a while, the Gmail feature is a recent (and, let’s face it, a very necessary) addition.
