How to Fix This IOS Error That Causes Your IPhone to Break All Day
If your iPhone or iPad has been crashing all day Saturday, you are not alone.
On Saturday, there was an iOS error that caused the iPhone to crash when receiving a notification, specifically one automatically generated from the app. For example, a notification from a game that “We haven’t seen you for a long time” will throw an error, but a message “Bob liked your tweet” based on a specific action will not.
ZDNet explains that when you receive these notifications, the error causes your phone’s CPU usage to spike up to 100 percent. This, in turn, causes your device to heat up, causing it to restart. And this is very annoying.
Here’s how to fix it according to Apple support :
Try updating your device to iOS 11.2 . After you click Download and Install, the download will continue even if your device reboots. Wait for the update to complete.
If you are unable to update, turn off notifications for all apps on your device, and then update your device to iOS 11.2:
1. Tap Settings> Notifications.
2. Tap the app and turn off Allow Notifications. Repeat this step for each application.
3. Update your device to iOS 11.2 .
4. After the update, tap Settings> Notifications and re-enable Allow Notifications for each app.
