3-Ingredient Happy Hour: Toasted Russian
Happy weekend everyone, and welcome back to Happy 3 Ingredient Hour , a weekly drinks column featuring very simple yet delicious libations. This week, I take a very smart commenter’s offer and include cream toast – a very popular topic earlier this week – at our happy hour.
Toasted cream is pretty easy to make – you can cook it sous vide (24 hours at 180 ° F) or in a pressure cooker (high pressure for two hours) – and once it’s done, you’re ready to add the caramelized dairy products. and add it to anything that requires sweet, sweet depth. We will use it to get rid of the intrusive nature of White Russian – a cocktail that I have always considered “adult chocolate milk”. You do it the same way as “regular” white Russian, using the following:
- 1 1/2 ounce vodka
- 1 1/2 ounce kahlua
- 1 1/2 ounces fried heavy cream
Fill the lowball with ice and top with vodka and kalua. Cream gently and stir lightly. Have a drink through a straw, make a toast, and joke a cliché about staying true.
