A man attempting to fly from Iceland to England was recently denied boarding for donning all of his clothes at once in an effort to avoid being charged for checked baggage. This is a terrible attempt at travel hacking. He claims that the attendants said in advance that everything would be fine , but even if they let him sit down, he would be unhappy. Please don’t try to do this, people.
There are a number of reasons why this would not be ideal, besides the fact that it is ridiculous on a comedy film level. First, it makes sense why you won’t be allowed on the plane. Do you think the staff will let you get on the plane when it looks like you are carrying a few pounds who knows what with you? Come on, you couldn’t look more suspicious if you tried. In addition, during the flight, you will be incredibly uncomfortable. Wearing five layers of clothing can be pretty frustrating. Even turning the blower all the way down is enough to keep you from getting fried in your own clothes. In the end, you will look stupid.
If checking your bag is really going to be such a major issue during your travels, your best bet is to follow these steps:
