Optimize Your Movie Snack With These Popcorn Toppings

Awards season is fast approaching, which means you should watch a lot of films – so you can express your smart and good opinion of the films – and there are plenty of snacks to eat. A large bowl of fluffy, flavorful whipped corn is the obvious choice, but if you get a little bored with the simple oil and salt situation, we have a few ways to expand.

However, you must first make sure that your corn is perfect. To do this, I turn to Alton Brown’s in-the-cup method , which has never let me down, not once. In addition to the preparation of cores in a bowl made of stainless steel coated with punctured foil, the most important conclusion of Brown’s recipe is that you add salt to the core before they explode, and grinds the salt in a food processor. Once you’ve mastered this method, you’re ready to play with the toppings. Here are some of my favorites:

  • Nutritional Yeast: These yellow flakes are a vegan favorite for a good reason – they add a cheesy, super-sweet flavor to anything sprinkled on them and make popcorn downright addictive.
  • Soy sauce oil : Instead of pouring soy sauce directly onto the popcorn (which can make it wet), mix one tablespoon of this product with two tablespoons of ghee, then pour as usual.
  • Cacio e pepe: the top in a bowl with corn sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese mountain small – for example, a lot more than you think – then crush on top fresh black pepper.
  • Bonito Flakes: These dried fish flakes contain the richest umami punch ever pounded in your mouth, and they dance deliciously when sprinkled with hot popcorn.
  • Olive oil and roasted herbs: Rosemary is especially good here. (Have you ever grilled herbs before? It’s easy .)
  • Cinnamon Sugar: Do this when you need a break from savory foods – just make sure you use a lot of butter.
  • There are all sorts of powders in your spice cabinet: curry powder, garlic powder, Old Bay powder, chili powder, dried dill and cumin powder are all delicious.
  • Citrus zest: lime goes well with chili powder; lemon goes well with black pepper.
  • Miso butter: Mix a teaspoon of your favorite miso with ghee and beat until well combined. Sprinkle the entire strip.
  • Furikake: This product impressed all tastes. Sweet, salty, umami, vegetable – everything is there.

Also, it’s not a condiment, but I love a bunch of M & Ms mixed with a large bowl of hot buttery popcorn. The candy can melt in your hand before it enters your mouth, but the taste should be spoiled a little.
