CBS Sports HQ Streams Free Sports News All Day Long
Want to be able to watch sports news and highlights all day long without a cable TV subscription? Well, now you can. CBS today launched Sports HQ , a free stream that advertises all the sports material you love to sleep on the couch.
To access the service, all you need is an internet connection. You can watch the stream on your laptop in any internet browser, iOS or Android tablet, smartphone, Apple TV, Roku, or Amazon Fire TV. And yes, free means free . No subscriptions, no device authentication, no email subscriptions, and no “borrowed” credentials from your parents. It’s open 24/7, so if you can stomach the usual auto and insurance commercials, you’re done.
I’ve watched the live stream most of the morning and still haven’t experienced any hiccups or poor image quality. And I’ve seen pretty much every sport, from golf to soccer to drag racing (just like in cars – sorry RuPaul fans). Alternatively, you can touch the screen or hover your mouse over the video stream and select previous segments that you may have missed or want to watch. Think of it as DVR functionality for streaming video. This is a nice touch for those interested in only a select few sports. If you’re the type of person who always has a SportsCenter or local sports radio in the background, this may just be reality.
