“Listen Later” Is Like Instapaper for Podcast Episodes
Most podcast apps are built around finding and subscribing to shows, not episodes. But Listen Notes, Lifehacker’s favorite podcast search engine , now lets you create your own playlist from various podcast episodes.
With Listen Later, you can create an episode list that you can subscribe to in any podcast player like Apple Podcasts or Stitcher. Then find episodes in Listen Notes, add them to your Listen Later list, and they will automatically appear in your player.
For example, I searched for episodes of a podcast featuring Dungeon World, a game that is similar to Dungeons & Dragons but … different. I added them to my Play Later playlist and they appear in my favorite podcast app Overcast. I can also get notified of new potential releases using Listen Alerts , which is similar to Google Alerts for podcasts.
If you have a friend or relative who “wants to get into the podcasts” but doesn’t have the time or savvy to sign up for a show on their own, Listen Later is a great way to send them a show. Do everything above, but on your phone. Then you can simply select the episodes of the podcast and add Play Later to their playlist. So you can download your dad with history podcasts.
