Hate ITunes? Use Tiny Player for Mac
iTunes is bloated. If you just want to play some mp3s like in the old days, try Tiny Player for Mac .
Download, drag to Apps and open. (If your Mac doesn’t want to open this “unrecognized” application, right-click the menu.)
Tiny Player lacks many of the features of iTunes or even VLC. It has no equalizer, no cover art, no “matching music”. It simply plays your music files in the order you specified with or without shuffle and repeat. Okay.
Tiny Player also plays FLAC, AAC, AIFF and WAV files. (High Sierra is required to play FLAC, as I learned after an extremely ambitious attempt to play a vinyl-copied copy of Tubular Bells 2003.) It can save and open m3u playlists.
For more features like Last.fm integration, folder view and media browser, try the classic lightweight Mac Cog music player.
