Learn the Basics of Programming for Free With the Google Grasshopper App
If you want to learn how to program, there are tons of resources to help you learn how to do it. Sites like Codecademy, Udacity, and Khan Academy can help you do a little bit of work and see if coding is right for you. This week, the Google group launched another option , a mobile app called Grasshopper that can help you learn Javascript on your morning commute.
The app was built with Area 120, Google’s incubator for projects that employees want to complete within “20 percent of their work time,” the time they can use to work on anything, Engadget says .
The app (available for Android and iOS ) teaches you Javascript through a series of tiny games and puzzles, the idea is that you learn while enjoying the time.
If you already know a decent amount of Javascript then this doesn’t really do it for you, but if you want to dive in and see if you like it then this can be fun (and free!) To start with. and will give you a good base in case you decide to register with this official coding class.
