You Should Watch “Jeopardy!” in the Morning

The morning routine is highly personal (and perhaps taken too seriously, as one writer recently discovered ). However, we can all agree that morning television does not provide the intellectual boost we deserve.

The best show to watch while waking up is nothing short of the long-standing (and seemingly immortal) Jeopardy! It’s fast but not disorienting; it is thought provoking, but not overwhelming; and (here’s the best part) if you record it on your DVR and fast forward, each episode is only 14 minutes long. That’s enough to watch the full episode while finishing your coffee, and you will have enough time to get rid of the discomfort in your eyes before you have to communicate with your loved ones. This method also allows you to skip member banter (oh, are you collecting stamps? ) And categories you will never, never recognize (“I’ll take 1950s NHL Team Mascots for 800, Alex!”).

Danger! as a breakfast companion not only blocks the morning news, but also tackles the terrible time slot of the dinner show – times when you can only watch while sitting with your family (who you should talk to) or worse, while in the gym on the treadmill track, I look WITHOUT HEADING. There is nothing worse than seeing a clue, thinking you know the correct answer, and not being able to confirm it.

Alternatively, you can wake everyone in your home by shouting, “Who is Sandra Day O’Connor?” again and again.
