How to Bring Back the Classic Google Flights Interface
Late last year, Google began allowing users to try out a completely new interface for the desktop version of its Flight tool. We don’t have any issues with the changes, including a simpler home screen and search interface, an overall design that now follows the company’s material design guidelines , and an all-new Flight Analysis panel that gives you some helpful guidance when you’re looking for cheap tickets. …
However, as The Points Guy points out, some users are still sticking to the old Google interface. We understand. Change is never easy. And if you hate Google tweaks, you still have a chance to bring back the old interface – for now. It is unknown how long Google will give you access to the “classic” Flight interface, so it’s in your best interest to start getting used to the new design.
If we haven’t convinced you, here’s how you can switch back: When you are viewing any of the Flights web page, move your gaze to the lower-left corner of your browser window. Next to the question icon, which you can use to send all your complaints about the new interface to Google, you will see a small person icon. This is not an icon for determining the walking distance between two airports. Click on it and you will be taken back to the Old School Flights interface.
However, Google has one little trick. If you close Flights in your browser and then reopen the site, you will be returned to a completely new interface. You can refresh your web page on classic flights and still use the old design, but when you return to the site, you will be returned to the updated layout. As we said, you can start getting used to it – after all, this tiny human icon will be gone forever.
