What Cleaning Do You Never Miss?

Different people have very different thresholds for maintaining order in our homes, and one person’s “slight oversight” can become another’s “unforgivable squalor”. Personally, I can close my eyes to a sink full of dishes, but leaving the bed unmade for the day gives me a feeling “under the skin” that lasts all day. On the other hand, I once had a roommate who was scrupulous about washing dishes the second he made their use – a habit I have, since I tried and did not cultivate.

At Lifehacker, we take spring cleaning very seriously. We are far from missing out on an opportunity to refresh, reorganize and streamline our home life. We’re also very excited to hit the reset button with our technology, take a close look at our finances, and get the better of our day-to-day habits that have gotten a little musty. Welcome to Spring Cleaning Week as we clear away the winter cobwebs and set the stage for the sunny days ahead. Let’s clean up, okay?

So tell us: what little household chores must be done in your home, and which ones will you allow yourself to forget? Do you sweep (or Roomba) at the end of each day? Wipe down the sink after every use? Send your dishes so quickly you don’t need to soak them? Let us know in the comments.
