How to Donate to Charity Using Alexa

Amazon today launched a new smart assistant feature that allows you to donate between $ 5 and $ 5,000 using your voice. To donate, you just have to say, “Alexa, donate [X dollars] to the American Heart Association.” You don’t need to use any special skills for this to happen.

This skill is currently supported by 50 different charities, from well-known groups such as the American Cancer Society and St. Jude’s, to lesser-known charities such as the West Seattle Baseball League and Moments with the Book, CNET reported .

We tried it and found that the process is simple, but not so simple that you accidentally separate all your money without realizing it.

To get started, you simply ask Alex to donate any amount of money to a charity of your choice.

When you do, it will send information about this charity to your Alexa app so you can learn more about it. She will also confirm the amount of your donation and ask if you would like to send it now.

Funds are sent using Amazon Pay and the credit card you registered. You will receive a receipt in the Alexa app and email.

Amazon also provides the charity with your name and address, as well as your email address (a detail that Alexa also tells you before completing the transaction) so that the charity can stay in touch afterward.
