This DIY Garlic Sauce Is Much Better Than Papa John’s
Papa John doesn’t make good pizza, but he does make an addictive garlic dipping sauce. In fact, some ( Virginia and I) would say that this is the only noteworthy item on the menu and has a lot of salt in it. If you, like us, are also a fan of golden garlic sauce, but missed the opportunity to buy its giant jug , don’t despair, friend. We’ve got a recipe for you, and having a recipe means you don’t have to give money to at least this Republican Pope.
Am I the first to create a wannabe “Sauce”? No, but I think I’m the first to take this seriously. Almost all of the recipes I have found on the Internet are based on butter, so we are already on the wrong track. Maybe a technically tastier sauce will be made from butter? Yes, but we do not strive for culinary excellence; we are aiming for Papa John. Margarine – “butter sticks” if you’re discerning – is the key to success, along with much more garlic powder than you think you need and a little monosodium glutamate to keep you coming back.
Now, if you live in some nanny town that doesn’t sell pure monosodium glutamate, commonly sold under the Accent brand, you need to buy Knorr Vegetable Bouillon Cubes. They not only contain our monosodium glutamate, but they also contain all kinds of savory dehydrated flavors, keeping the variety of flavors on your tongue. (In truth, this is an important factor that makes food “addictive”. )
Either way, to make your garlic dipping sauce, you will need:
- 1 cube Knorr vegetable stock
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 oil stick such as Nucoa
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Add the bouillon cube to boiling water and stir until completely dissolved. Melt the butter stick in a separate microwave-safe container. Add one tablespoon of bouillon water to the butter along with the rest of the ingredients and beat with a hand blender to emulsify. Take your favorite cheesy frozen pizza and dunk, baby, dunk.
