How to Try Out the New Google Assistant Voices Now
Google announced last week that it will add six new voices for Google Assistant, as well as a voice that sounds like John Legend.
While you won’t be able to hear the voice of the legend until the end of this year, some of the voices are already available in the Google Assistant app and are ready to test drive.
To get new voices, launch the Google Assistant or Google Home app on your phone, then tap the blue box in the upper right corner of the screen. From there, tap the three dots in the upper right corner and then select “Settings” from the drop-down menu. If you’re using Google Home, skip the blue box step and instead select “More Settings” from the drop-down menu.
After that, select “Settings” in the menu, and then – “Voice assistant”. You should see six options for voices. Tap each of them to preview how they sound, then leave the one you like best before exiting the menu.
There should now be eight voices available for iOS and Android users. If you don’t see the new options, make sure you’ve downloaded the latest version of the app.
