This App Turns YouTube Into Carefully Curated TV Channels for Mindless Viewing
About a year ago, we started watching one show at home drunkenly. We usually pick something with at least four or five seasons, and then whenever we want to “watch something,” the answer is always the next episode of that show. Yes, we deviate from this to catch new episodes of other programs, but having this “one program” helps to eliminate the need to scroll through TV deals and offers to find something when in reality we are just looking for something to play in the background.
Neverthink is the same thing for YouTube. With the Android and iOS app (and website), you can switch to the “channel” and watch themed videos.
If you want to get a little education while you are killing time, you can choose the Learn Something channel, if you want to laugh, the Comedy Channel. There are also channels like Tech News, Talk Shows, and Beauty.
The idea is that it works like YouTube TV: you just pick a channel and let it go. You don’t dig for something on YouTube and it will play as long as you want, so you don’t have to look for another choice when your first one is ready.
This is not for constant viewing, but for those occasions when you are on the train home or looking for something to watch on your phone before bed.
All videos are handpicked by the app staff, not an algorithm, so while the taste of the videos may vary, you’re also slightly less likely to run into an error than you might just aimlessly click on YouTube while you wait for the delayed departure / arrival train …
