How to Buy the NES Classic This Week
I remember the first time Nintendo’s NES Classic came out – that joyous November week when everyone went crazy calling every salesperson they could find to get their hands on a cute emulator in the box.
The NES Classic is beautiful retro hardware that you can play on your desktop or laptop , but why would you want to? Part of the fun of owning this miniature console is to show it off in your home entertainment center – a sign of computer faith that should inspire your friends and loved ones to share their favorite memories of owning the Power Glove or the hours they spent banging their hands as children. by your Power Pads. While I have no idea if the NES Classic will be as popular as it used to be when Nintendo re-releases it on June 29th – this Friday – you need to work a little bit to get your hands on the console right now. business . The last thing you want is to skip (again) and pay a markup on top of the console’s regular $ 60 price tag. Ugh.
Find out where you might want to buy the NES Classic
A number of online retailers are required to have NES Classic in stock. If there is a lot of demand for land when it goes on sale, you don’t want to get stuck looking for alternative places to buy it. I’ve also seen several posts about how that NES classics already available in some Walmarts. I wouldn’t advise going to every Walmart store in your area and bothering the manager to see what’s in stock. But if you have a little time to kill – or plan on stopping by Walmart today or tomorrow anyway – beware. It’s the same with stores like Target, Gamestop, and Best Buy. If you’re lucky, maybe someone accidentally released some set-top boxes ahead of schedule.
Spend a little more, but not much more, to get a console.
If you don’t mind paying a little more to get it, you can just go buy the NES Classic right now from third-party sellers on Amazon (~ $ 100), eBay (~ $ 80-90), or even sites like Craigslist. or Facebook Marketplace. (Don’t be fooled or robbed.)
To save some money, you might even be able to pick up a used console. I bet most of the NES Classics sat by their owners’ TVs for months after the novelty of playing 8-bit games on a 4K TV disappeared – like Super NES Classic, which I haven’t played since launch week – so I’m not would have worried too much about a used console.

Try not to hit anyone while running with the cash to get your Classic.
Don’t strain
If you don’t get the NES Classic this weekend, don’t worry about it. When Nintendo released Super NES Classic last September, inventory was also limited. I recall driving to several different targets when I got a hint that one day they accidentally had additional consoles in stock – and it took me three targets to finally find one where it was exactly. And now? You can buy the new Super NES Classic straight from Gamestop without any problem.
Nintendo reps indicated that the company plans to sell the NES Classic for the rest of the year, which is a subtle way of saying that they are likely to have more sales this time than they did last time. Keep checking – resist the urge to pay double the console’s suggested retail price on eBay – and you can probably hit one in a reasonable amount of time.
