If you’re still putting the finishing touches on your family’s summer vacation plans, and by “finishing touches” I mean date picking, then Kayak has a few suggestions for you.
A travel planning site has looked at airline ticket prices for the next few months and has suggested a few weekends when you’re likely to get a better deal than others, according to Money .
The “best” weekend for air travel this summer is August 25th. The average weekend fare is $ 305, the lowest price until the fall. The next two lowest-priced weekends are September 8 with an average ticket of $ 311 and September 1 (Labor Day weekend!) With an average ticket of $ 312.
It’s worth noting that these numbers are average prices, so your flight ticket (obviously) will vary depending on where you plan to travel. If you already have a destination selected, most airlines will allow you to view fares for that destination on a calendar. While your chosen weekend kayak may be a good place to start your search, you may find that other weekends are actually slightly cheaper than your preferred vacation spot.
Bottom line: there are some more suggestions, you just need to do a little research to find them.
