Amazon Prime Day – July 16th (Likely)

Mark your calendars and get your wallets ready – or if you’re trying not to spend money, your site blockers: Amazon’s annual online deal extravaganza is approaching. A recent leak suggests this is all happening on Monday, July 16th.

The leak is actually due to Amazon’s own stupidity. According to TechRadar , they accidentally posted a Prime Day 2018 ad banner on Amazon UK. TechRadar closed the banner before Amazon could remove it. Now the cat is out of the bag.

Amazon hasn’t confirmed the date, but the time seems right. July 16 is the day after the World Cup final on July 15. The banner says it will start at noon, but it is unclear if this will be the start time for all buyers or just those in the UK currently on BST. Last year, Prime Day kicked off on July 10 at 6 p.m. BST in the UK and 9 p.m. EST in the US. This would mean that deals will likely start at noon on the west coast PST this year, but at 3:00 pm for those on the east coast, EST.

While shopping last year lasted only 30 hours, this year’s Prime offers will last 36 hours until July 17th. There is no word yet on what the big deals will be, but expect electronics, toys, books, games, clothes, etc. and more to be all heavily dumped. Make sure you’re ready to play this year – you have plenty of time to get ready!
