How to Use YouTube Incognito Mode
Android: Sometimes you want to watch a YouTube video so it doesn’t show up in your story. For those moments when you need to go undercover, YouTube recently added an incognito mode that makes it easy to watch videos without leaving any traces.
This feature is currently only available for Android, and there is no word if and when it will appear in the iOS version of the app. (If you really need to watch videos and YouTube isn’t tracking your habits, you have several alternatives .)
Also, be aware that this feature can prevent everything you watch from showing up in your story in the app, but your school or employer will still be able to see what you are doing depending on what methods they use. to manage their networks.
To turn on incognito mode, launch the YouTube app and click on your avatar. From there select “Turn on Incognito” from the menu that appears.
If you don’t see this option in your app, make sure your phone has the latest version of YouTube by going to the Google Play Store on your device and checking for updates. If incognito mode is still active, wait a few days. YouTube started testing this mode back in May, but is rolling out it this week for all Android users.
