How to Opt Out of New Netflix Ads
By now, you’ve probably heard that Netflix has started showing trailers of its shows between episodes of the show you’re watching. So while you wait for the next episode of Orange Is the New Black, you might see an ad for Fuller House.
At the moment, Netflix is just testing the idea, but this test is being carried out with everyone, according to CNET . For now, thankfully, you can opt out of ads if you don’t want to see them. Here’s how to do it:
Launch Netflix in a browser (not an app) on your computer, phone or tablet and sign in.
On your computer, you’ll want to click your profile picture in the upper right corner of the page. On your mobile device, go to the hamburger menu (three dots above each other on the left side of the page) and then select Account.
From there, scroll down to Settings and select Test Participation. In this menu, turn off the “Include me in tests and previews” button and click “Finish”.
That’s all! From now on, you shouldn’t see any ads while watching the binge. That is, unless Netflix chooses to make this a permanent rollout rather than a test, then we may all be out of luck.
