How Often to Poop

Ah, the bathroom matters. As with sex, there seems to be a lot of misinformation floating around. As with sex, reports of high numbers can be exaggerated. That is, a large number of pooping.

How often do you think you should poop? According to Metro.co.uk, there is a common misconception that you should poop at least once a day. We do call people with healthy bowel movements “regular,” if we call them anything at all. But in fact, pooping every day is a luxury that few experience:

One study in 4,775 people with “normal” bowels found that 95% of people had a bowel movement three to 21 times a week. Gastroenterologist Christopher Hare said: “What’s normal is clear but broad. In many studies of normal “healthy” bowel movements, normal urination ranges from three times a day to three times a week.

Three times a day! Who’s got the time? Apparently less than 40 percent of people who could be defined as healthy feces every single day. Constipation or a liquid constipation may indicate that you have an infection or metabolic disorder. Leaking blood means you should see your doctor right away, as this could be a sign of cancer.

If you are not feeling unwell and in doubt if you are experiencing a medical emergency, the gastroenterologist told Metro.co.uk that people should remember the rule of three and three: “You have a normal bowel frequency. if you are from three times a day to once every three days. ” They called it the “Goldilocks pooping zone.”
