Why Should You Look for in-App Purchases for IOS App Before Buying [updated]

Apple, which previously removed in-app shopping lists from the Info sections of apps in the App Store, has now revived them. I just took a look at Carrot Weather and this is what I saw:
While that’s not a guarantee that this list will stay forever, it’s nice to see Apple’s deletion was temporary rather than permanent. Our advice still holds true: check what in-app purchases the app offers before purchasing to make sure you don’t have to pay extra for the functionality you intend to get.

Why not, Apple changed the product pages in the App Store and made it impossible to view in-app purchases prior to purchasing it. Why is it important? Because if you shell out $ 5 per app, you probably expect it to have all the features you read about in the app description. You may be less interested in the initial purchase – even a free download – if you find that you have to pay more to unlock the functionality you wanted in the first place.
Open any app in the App Store and scroll down a bit until you see the Information section on the product page. Starting with iOS 11, you will usually find a small line labeled “In-App Purchases” here, if available in the app. Click on it and you will be able to see all the IAPs the application has to offer.
It is important. While app developers can choose to include in-app purchases in a separate section on their product pages – which is pretty hard to miss – they don’t need to show anything at all. They don’t even need to detail their app’s in-app purchases in the app description.
While downloading a free app that has basic functionality locked down for in-app purchases is only a minor annoyance, you will probably be very unhappy if you download a paid app – technically a “paid” app, as you know, which is also wants you to spend more money for a more complete experience.
You can always read the reviews of the app and check its official website, if there is one, to see what IAP suggestions it offers (if any), but there is another little workaround you can still use to see the disappeared list of applications. For example, while you will no longer be able to see the list of IAPs in Carrot Weather on the product page in the App Store, you will see a list of them on that page in your web browser – for now. Scroll down until you see the Information section and all the IAPs that are in the app should appear at the bottom. You can’t click anywhere to find out more about them, but you can at least see that they exist and then explore all the information you need to know about premium add-ons for the app.
