Add Dark Mode to Google Docs With Darkdocs
I’m a big fan of night or “dark” modes for websites and apps. Darker backgrounds use less battery power and are more pleasing to the eye than bright white. This is a win-win. I’ve already written about several Chrome extensions that will allow you to enable dark mode for everything you do. This week I came across a new one that works specifically for Google Docs.
An extension called Darkdocs does exactly what you think it does: it adds a dark mode to Google Docs.
It will make the background of your Google Docs black and your caption white. This difference can make writing in a dark room more enjoyable for you and others, and can also help reduce battery drain in places such as airplanes where power may be low.
Since it is a Chrome extension, it can also be easily turned on and off using a button on the Chrome toolbar. This way you can switch back and forth if your preferences change in the middle of your writing session.
