How to Install IOS 12.1 Public Beta
Should you install the iOS public beta on your mainstream iPhone or iPad? Most people caution against doing this, especially when the beta is in its early stages, as you never know what bugs might block what you are using your iPhone (or your favorite apps).
However, we’re now in version number four of Apple’s public beta testing for iOS 12.1, so you can probably give it a shot without too much worry. Join in and you can play with features like the new emoji in the digital dump truck, Group FaceTime ( finally ), post-facto depth control of your portrait photos (for iPhone XS and XS Max owners only) and eSIM (if your carrier supports ), and this just some of the features.
To get started, go to Apple’s website to see its public beta releases and register (or sign in) with your Apple ID. You can of course do this on a computer, but you might want to do it on your iPhone or iPad (in Safari) to save time. Because once you’re signed in, you’ll want to visit Apple’s iOS public beta page through the Safari browser on your iPhone or iPad.
Click on the “register your iOS device” link that takes you here and download the beta profile to your iPhone or iPad. You will need to touch it a little more to install it, and you will have to restart your phone or tablet, but it’s a simple process.
Once your iPhone or iPad boots up again, you have the latest and greatest iOS 12.1 public beta. You’ll also get an annoying new Feedback app that you can’t get rid of – one small beta annoyance that you can use to inform Apple about any issues you run into. Hope you have no problem.
