Leave the Work Week Behind With an Irish Goodbye
Happy weekend everyone, and welcome back to Happy 3 Ingredient Hour , a weekly drinks column featuring very simple yet delicious libations. Today, we make three assertive, aromatic drinks to help us forget the hassles of the work week.
As someone who is not a big fan of measuring alcohol, I prefer cocktails that require equal parts of the three ingredients. Created by Jeffrey Morgenthaler of Clyde Common , The Irish Goodbye features Powers, Lillet Blanc and Cynar Irish whiskey. Rather than fighting for dominance, the three work harmoniously to create a cocktail that looks a little fruity, a little woody, and quite harsh. To make it yourself, you will need:
- 1 oz Powers Irish Whiskey (or your favorite brand)
- 1 ounce cinar
- 1 oz Lillet Blanc
Add everything to a mixing glass filled with ice and stir until cool. Strain into a glass compartment.
