How to Find Out What Twitter Thinks Are Your Interests

Today I found out that Twitter thinks that I am interested in literature, beer, hip-hop, and I really like my friends Ina and Harry (they both interest me doubly for some reason). As for me, Twitter thinks I’m known as a technology journalist and also as “the other”. I’ve never been so proud!

Twitter officially introduced a way to see your interests (and customize them) in May, but the feature got a lot of attention this week when people started sharing their interests online.

Twitter uses the “interests” it thinks you have to determine which ads and content to show you. Interest Lists are based in part on your Twitter activity. If something is wrong, you can customize this list. So if I suddenly decide that I hate comedy, I can remove it from my personal list.

To see yours, you just need to click here and enter your Twitter password. Or, you can go to your Twitter account information and then select Your Twitter Data from the sidebar menu and then Inferred Twitter Interests at the bottom of the page. Hence, on this page, you can also download all your Twitter data, which is also worth checking out.

Who knows – maybe you are also known differently.
