Give Your Child a Voice in the Gun Control Debate With This Poll Site
In the midst of the student-led March for Our Lives movement, more and more young activists are speaking out and asking for changes in firearms control policies. Many of them are too young to vote, but they deserve to have their voices heard.
WeCan.Vote is the “not yet voted poll” site, a new resource that empowers young people under 18 to check the NRA ratings of their state representatives and simulate their “yes” or “yes” votes.
According to AdWeek , the project was launched by three New York-based creatives after survivors and other student activists reached out to the creative industry for support at the 4A flagship conference in Miami. Since launching the website, the creators have partnered with high school student Ruben Glasser, founder of the student activist group Students for Firearms Law, which has chapters in both Ohio and Michigan.
After kids and teens submit their ballots, they can track NRA ratings, how many politicians voted against, and how many students voted. The site helps teach children and adolescents how to be informed, engaged citizens, and hopefully, as soon as they turn 18, we will see them at the polling stations.
