Instead of Buying Bitcoins, Play This Bitcoin Trading Game
I have lost over $ 300,000 worth of bitcoins. Now I have to tell you that this is all fake and I only lost it in the Bitcoin Flip cryptocurrency trading simulator game. But no, I actually bought $ 400 worth of bitcoin when it was cheap, then left it in the hands of the online exchange Mt. Gox, who then lost him . And yet I recently bought another $ 210 bitcoin, which has already dropped to $ 172. This is not an investment, this is a gamble. I’d rather just play Bitcoin Flip.
Bitcoin Flip is a free game for the web , iOS and Android . (Google recently removed it from the Play store, but the creators, a group of Latvian students who previously created the Trading Game stock market simulator, are working to restore it.) In the game, you can trade 24 cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, Monero and Dogecoin based on real prices obtained from various online exchanges. Beneath the complex price chart for each currency in the game, a brief description and history of that currency is provided, making it a worthy educational tool for aspiring cryptocurrency enthusiasts.
Bitcoin Flip plays safer with your imaginary money than anyone else with your real money; the game only allows you to trade small amounts from your bank of $ 5,000 at a time. But if your style of play is even a little like mine, you will still start losing money right away. The game effectively reminded me that I don’t have a business trading cryptocurrency or any financial instrument more complex than a baseball card.
But if you are good at making a profit in the game, you may decide that you really want to buy cryptocurrency. The game has links to crypto exchanges where you can buy real currency and lose real money. (Co-author Louise McCauley tells me the game is not affiliated with any crypto companies or brands.) So have fun and if you do manage to make a profit, never tell me about it.
