Where to Watch the Freshest Films About Rotten Tomatoes
Before choosing a movie that you are going to watch, you need to choose the platform on which you are going to find it. This can be a tough decision if you don’t have an idea yet, but it’s no surprise that Netflix might be the best choice for spontaneous movie night picks.
According to the Streaming Observer , Netflix, of the most popular streaming service, has the highest number of films rated Fresh by Rotten Tomatoes. In fact, there are more of them than Hulu, HBO, and Amazon Prime Video combined.
- Netflix: 596 fresh from 3,839 movies. (15.5%)
- Hulu: 223 recent films out of 2,336 (9.6%).
- HBO: 38 fresh from 815 films (4.7%)
- Amazon: 232 fresh from 17,461 films (1.3%).
The numbers clearly distinguish between quality and quantity. (Who knew Amazon Prime had a lot more movies than Netflix?)
Of course, this is just one aspect of judging which streaming services are working for you. Each of these platforms produces their own films, which may or may not be a bottleneck for you. Or, you may prefer streaming TV shows to movies. Still, if you’re looking to cut back on the number of streaming subscriptions that go into your bank account each month, this is one of the few sane quantitative ways to compare content quality across the top services.
